Bangkok – Culture Minister Itthiphol Kunplome, on behalf of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha, met and gave a gift basket to Hollywood star Russell Crowe to thank the actor for publicizing “Phuket Sandbox” and tourist attractions during his trip in Thailand on social media.

 

Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana told the Associated Press today, October 24th, that General Prayut Chan-O’Cha had ordered the Culture Minister, who is also a brother of current Pattaya mayor Sonthaya Kunplome and a former Pattaya mayor, to meet the Australian famous actor along with Allan Mckinnon, Ambassador of Australia to Thailand.

 

The spokesperson stated that Crowe thanked the Prime Minister for the souvenir and mentioned that he really admired Thailand, especially Thai people’s characteristics and kindness which comforted him throughout his travel.

BTW, I wonder if ol’ Russell had to apply for a COE and do time in an ASQ hotel?

Another pathetic example of the overwhelming generosity of the Thai government when foreigners bring a lot of money into the country ! A crappy little basket of Thai goods. Bet they still want them all to pay tax !

Yes, he did 14 days in the Phuket Sandbox. I imagine somebody else filled in the visa paperwork for the cast and crew.

 

 

 

No one in the picture is pointing at the gift basket. How are we supposed to know where it is?

What did you have in mind? A supercar? An elephant? Some gold bars?

It sounds more like the Thai government grasping at straws and there is no real good news regarding Phuket & it's kitty-box

I can just see Crowe gulping down little bottles of Chicken Essence.....

But down under we have a saying that any gift is better than a kick in Ass...

Except you could understand what Danny De Vito says.

What choice does he have. He up set the electric company a few weeks ago by saying something about all the wiring in the air. So I'm sure his managers warned him he may end up in jail if you criticizes anything here in thailand.  Like a hotel,restaurant,  government, business or company.

Who is also the son of the former 'Godfather of Chonburi', Kamnan Poh aka Somchai Khunpluem (Kunplome).

Yet, I adore Crowes slippers on an official function as well as Khun Lek, former mayor of Pattaya, who clearly is lost for words again - once a small boy, still a small boy! 

Good onya Russell, removes mask for photos, now I am waiting for a certain person to come out and call him a dirty farang, if he would dare.
