You clearly don't know Thailand, where drugs are everywhere and violence is always just below the surface and there is very little self-control. This drug-taking ex-cop just took things to an extreme.

  • Heartbreaking that someone could do this... I have no words.

His own children attended the school. But there is also a random element, killed complete strangers away from the school as well.

Apparently, he went to the Orbotor for assistance over his conviction for selling drugs ! The Orbortor refused and this was the Orbortors school !

Revised number of dead now 38.

Apparently now finding random people he shot by the side of the road.

At least 30 people killed.

23 or so were little Babies aged 2 and 3 Years old

Why ? What demons were in this Ex Police Officers head that made him go out and perform such a heinous and wicked act on innocent people.

And all over a Debt Feud with a more Senior Officer apparently

My sympathies and condolences go out to all the people that have lost Loved ones or have been affected by this horrendous Incident.

After this the whole accountability of the Thai Police Force has to be investigated and many changes made.

They seem to be increasingly an organization that is completely out of control, with Zero questions asked of their actions

Drugs yet again.  Death toll now up to 32 I believe.

No doubt the pro-drugs crowd on this site will come out to shout me down.

one death is too many, but 32 including 22 children some as young as 2 years old is horrendous!

I will report anyone I think is on Yah Baa as I did recently to my step daughters boyfriend.  Told him to stay away or else.  Not a popular decision, i could not care less.

No doubt I am on the bad boys wanted list, but at 84 I should worry

Why a school, and why this school in particular ?

I guess we will find out in the coming days.

For sure “Loss of face” must have been involved somehow.

Loss of heart and brain too. So sad.

Well then, if true he has taken the title long held by Martin Bryant.

Wondering if this was a drug induced psychotic episode further fuelled by the deranged murderer's loss of face, loss of career from his termination from the police as well as facing yabba possession charges.

Sickening to think about the horror of all the victims involved being ripped open by bullets from this evil act.  Why involve random and innocent people, especially small children?  Trauma for life for the survivors.

You just have to come to terms with the fact that there will always be psychopaths like this popping up occasionally to wreak murderous havoc. There really are no practical measures to eliminate it,especially involving a legitimately armed policeman/soldier going into a vulnerable institution like a school. Fortunately it is rare here although I understand that comes as no comfort to the victims

He was dismissed from the Royal Thai Police Force last year for drug abuse. According to local news reports he was a known user and dealer. If he was still allowed to keep any police issued firearms somebody must be held accountable.

More than 30 people killed in mass shooting in Thailand: Police

Early reports suggest both children and adults have been killed in the attack.

More than 30 people have been killed in a mass shooting at a children’s day-care centre in a northeastern province of Thailand, a police spokesperson said.

Victims included both children and adults, police said in a statement on Thursday, adding that the gunman was an ex-police officer and a manhunt was underway.

The prime minister has alerted all agencies to take action and apprehend the culprit, a government spokesperson said.

Shooter, ex cop, shot himself not long after the sad incident, his body found quickly.

Paisal said the gunman is a former policeman who was discharged last year on charge of drug abuse.

And didnt put this insect behind bars?

Of course not. He was a former police officer. They don’t go to jail that easily.

Seems these psychos are stalking all over the world with arms and targeting the innocent - they are not in their normal senses... its frightening.

Totally agree, there is a violent underbelly in so many of them when pushed or face is lost.

Like what percent? You must have a guess at least?

Do you live in Thailand? Do you read the almost daily reports of murder, usually involving a man-child offended by his partner leaving him and therefore deserving to die.

You're confusing this case with the previous mass shooting in Thailand, which involved a soldier killing innocent shoppers in a mall in Korat as he was in dispute over a land deal.

As for the comment that the police are completely out of control, this latest mass murderer was removed from the force and charged with taking and dealing drugs, for which he was due in court tomorrow.

I'm in a state of shock about this. I feel like throwing up. makes me very reluctant to want to send my kid to school now. I feel so sorry for the kids that have to grow up in such a cruel and inhumane world. RIP to the innocent that have had their young lives so unfairly taken away from them ????

A manhunt was launched after the attack in Nong Bua Lamphu province, in the north-east of the country.

Why? Seems he killed himself and his family too.

Might be, because they needed to find him to know that fact.

Incidents such as this have nothing to do with the country it happens in. Some people always quick to blame the specific country.  Very popular way of thinking on these forums.  So in that case I guess Thailand is at fault for what this person did.
The fact of the matter is the people that do this type of violence are mentally disturbed.  Then  unfortunately  other disturbed people hear about it on the news.  Then you have the copycats.  Doesn’t matter where it happens.  And a country cannot control a sick person’s mind.
A terrible tragedy.

A hideous crime that I am deeply saddened to read about .

My deepest sympathy to the families of the murder victims families .

GF from Thailand said he got fired for selling Yaba.  Said he was taking it.. Not sure if true but what she said.

100% true, and this was last year in which he was terminated.  He was scheduled for court tomorrow.  Deaths are at 36 as of now and many more injured.  Not only at the school, but on the road going there as well as going to his house.
